John finds a new job

Tuesday February 11th

John now seems to have slept off the last of his illness and is feeling much better.  As planned, we had a day of swimming, dozing, reading and eating, as well as some entertaining people watching.

The Internet for the resort was not working when we woke up this morning, so the IT guy came with his bamboo ladder, climbed up the tree outside our room and replaced the modem.  John wants his job.

We’ve now booked our bus tickets to Bangkok for Thursday.  It will take 7 hours, so we’re not really looking forward to that.  I really hope that we don’t get a driver like the one who brought us to Koh Chang.

During the afternoon, we thought we’d try out the swimming pool, but the chlorine smell couldn’t compete with the lovely warm salty ocean, so we headed for the sea instead.  We stayed in the water until the sun was about to set.  We could have stayed longer than that, but we prefer to see if something with big teeth is going to swim up and eat us.

After a shower and a nice dinner at a table on the sand, we lazed away the rest of the evening with our books.  More of the same tomorrow!
