Thursday February 13th
This morning it was time to move on from our 4 days in paradise. We had a fairly early start to make sure that
we were ready for our 8.15am pickup by minibus.
Time is a bit rubbery here, so we didn’t actually get picked up until
8.35 but that was close enough.
This was a much more pleasant ride than our trip to Koh Chang from the Thai
border. This driver actually seemed quite
sane – although he still chatted away on his mobile for much of the journey.
We decided to get off the bus when it stopped off at the airport. Our reasoning was that we could get an
express train that would avoid all the traffic congestion which seems to be quite
a problem in Bangkok. From the express
train, we took a connecting train, with one transfer to another line, and
arrived quite close to our hotel.
By the time we got there, we were pretty hot, bothered and tired. John had a flop on the bed for a while and I
went down for a swim in the pool. Once
again, I’m so grateful that we made ‘must have swimming pool’ one of the
selection rules for our hotels. There is
a massage area just near the pool, so I plan to take advantage of this
tomorrow.

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant to save the hassle of finding
somewhere to eat when we were so tired.
The food was wonderful, but I have to admit that nothing beats sitting
at a table on the beach. We’re going
exploring tomorrow, but I’ll make sure I fit in that massage somewhere!
